About Us

Who We Are
Hi, I’m Jodie, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and the therapist behind atala. I work with children, young people, adults, and families who are dealing with symptoms such as anxiety, depression, overwhelming thoughts, or the big changes that come with grief and loss.
My style brings together CBT—to help you better understand your thoughts with a calm, caring approach for the moments that feel overwhelming.
In our sessions, you’ll have a space where you don’t need to hold anything in or worry about being judged. You can come exactly as you are. I’ll listen, help you understand what you’re feeling, and offer practical tools you can use day to day—at school, at work, or just getting through your day. I’m down-to-earth, supportive, and I’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
“If you’re looking for a therapist who’s warm, grounded, and truly supportive, you’re in the right place.”

What Makes atala Different?
Over the years, I’ve worked in a mix of roles that have shaped how I understand and support people working in SEN schools, leading a bereavement service, and supporting looked-after young adults. I’ve also been a wellbeing lead in a school and spent time helping teenagers who feel stuck or unsure about work or training. These experiences have stayed with me, and I bring all of that understanding into my CBT practice. It means I don’t just rely on theory—I draw on real, human experiences to connect with the people I support.
